About Quebar
Registered in 2014 and working from Prieska ever since, Quebar builds and maintains electrical and civil infrastructure for the renewable energy, mining, utility and government sectors of the Northern Cape.
The company
Quebar Electrical & Civil Constructions was registered in 2014 and has been trading continuously since. Its founder brings more than 20 years of personal industry experience, having come out of Eskom. The company grew from electrical work into the civils that surround it — because on a renewable energy site the two are the same programme.
That is still the argument for the business. Trenching, cabling, jointing, terminating and switching sit under one contractor, with one point of accountability, rather than being split across subcontractors who each own half a defect.
The company is 100% Black-owned and a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor. Its CIDB registration is 10056236, with 1 CE, 2 GB and 5 EP/PE gradings.

How we work
Quality control is a service Quebar provides across trenches, cabling, transformers, inverters and substation builds. Quentin Barends also holds current ORHVS for Authorised Persons certification, issued in October 2025 and valid to October 2030.
